Today, we start our Beijing Capital tour with Qianmen Street. Qianmen Street was a commercial and entertainment hub due to its convenient location, connecting the Imperial Palace with other communities in Beijing. In the run-up to the 2008 Olympics, the street underwent a rejuvenation to restore the streetscape to that of the early 20th century. We will continue on to visit the world-famous and historic Tiananmen Square, also known as the “Gate of Heavenly Peace”. Located in the heart of Beijing, Tiananmen Square was once the main gate to the Imperial Palace during the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) dynasties. Today, it is home to the Monument to the People’s Heroes, Mao Zedong Memorial Hall, National Museum of China, and the Great Hall of the People. Afterwards, we drive by the famed Olympic Site and have a photo stop at Olympic National Stadium (the Bird's Nest), Olympic National Aquatics Center (the Water Cube) and National Center for the Performing Art. In the afternoon, join the optional tour and explore the home to the Ming and Qing emperors, the Forbidden City. Comprised of 800 buildings covering 720,000 sq. meters, it is the world's largest palace complex.

Explore Beijing on your own today or join the optional tour to the Great Wall, one of the man-built architectures that can be seen from the low orbit of the earth. The Great Wall is a massive defensive structure built to keep intruders from invading the mainland. It stretches an impossible 4000 miles across China's north, covering nine provinces. An enormous undertaking that originally began under Qin Shi Huang (first emperor of China) in 200 B.C., the Great Wall was not completed until the Ming Dynasty in 1640. This morning you have plenty of time to walk along its ancient path and experience part of China's fascinating history. Afterwards, head to Sacred Way leading to the Ming Tombs, which is the best-preserved and most skillfully carved. It was believed that the Emperor, the Son of Heaven, would return to Heaven through this road.

After pickup from your hotel in the city, soak in views of Beijing’s suburbs and rural China as you travel north to one of the most scenic sections of the Great Wall, designated a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1987. On arrival, ascend to the ramparts and enjoy ample time to walk along the paved walkway at the top, seeing the watch towers and admiring the far-reaching views over the battlements as they snake over the surrounding mountain ridges.

Take time to stroll along the winding path, which is lined with stone statues of animals and human figures, before returning to Beijing, where your tour finishes with a hotel drop-off.
This tour was such an amazing trip! Our tour guide in Thailand, Sharky, was informative, entertaining, and very accommodating for our group. This trip was was 100% worth it for the money, and we were able to do even more excursions that anticipated, per recommendations or set up by Sharky. Our guide in China, Henry, was excellent as well. Even after becoming ill in Bankok airport before my flight, Sharky went above and beyond to stay with our group to ...
We had a great trip as everything was very well planned by Affordable World, I highly recommend them. The first hotel in Bangkok was fabulous with the best breakfast buffet. The two other hotels in Thailand not as good, as our guide said, they were 5 stars 30 years ago!! Really enjoyed the guides and PA was amazing, he really met and went above all expectation. The tours are well planned. In China the hotel was very good and the guide ...
This was a phenomenal experience, and I can't speak highly enough about our tour guide in Thailand, Kitty (meow meow). Every single one of the excursions was worth the money (I wish we'd gone on them all), and there is always ample time to explore on your own. The food that is provided is good (breakfast each morning is great), and the tour guide really went above and beyond the tour to fill our downtime, suggesting new things for us ...
Thailand was an amazing experience <3 My tour guide was O and she was amaizing. Everything about the stay in Thailand was great. However our tour guide in Beijing was not as good but the rest was excellent. Affortable Asia did an excellent job in arranging all the details.
We would strongly recommend a tour with Affordable World. They take care of all the logistics and planning so that we didn't have to plan or worry at all. PA was a great tour guide and went above and beyond to provide us with recommendations and coordinate transportation to things not listed on the itinerary (in our free time). Everything went smoothly, all of the hotels were nice. We had a great time!
My best friend and I took this tour in August 2015. At the time, we were both 20 years old and very intimidated by going to Asia by ourselves. This tour was an absolutely incredible experience. Our flights, hotels, travel accommodations were all better than we expected. We felt safe at all times, had a blast and even made some friends along the way. I credit most of our great experience in Thailand to our tour guide Audi, who was ...
Overall we were VERY pleased with our choice on "Best of Asia". Two amazing countries. As follows are things to know and tidbits. I must say we were fortunate to get the best guide available on Both legs of the trip, folks were asking to transfer to our bus because of our guides. They can make a trip. Flight on Air China, dealing with Chinese is different for Americans. Your flight will be 2/3rds Chinese ...
We wanted to thank Nop again for the wonderful tour of Thailand he gave me and Michel for our honeymoon. The tour would not have been the same without his valuable knowledge of the history and culture of the country and his kindness and generosity to guide us every step of the way. He made sure we were always in good hands, never taken advantage of, always showed us where the best photo opportunities were, and gave us special "off ...
I would STRONLY discourage you from sending any future groups to the Tiger Zoo! That was my least favorite part of the entire trip. It was painful to see the terrible conditions the animals were kept in and the way they were treated. It was truly so sad to be there and I would have preferred to spend my time in Thailand doing something else…with cultural or historical significance!! I did not like this part of the trip ...
Affordable World was above my expectations, everything was very organized the accommodations were very good and luxury. I love Thailand it was an amazing experience! My tour guide was Panada I wasn’t too happy with her but must admit Audi the other tour guide was very good he gave everyone extra time and was very nice and very helpful some of my friends were with him and they loved him. The Elephant Trekking it’s an amazing experience you must do ...
This trip was an absolute joy. All aspects of the trip was well done and organized. In Thailand our tour guide was Kitty, not only was she exceptionally well versed on all aspects of history and culture in her country but she is passionate about making sure we had all of our needs met. She made us laugh on our bus rides and shared with us hints on food choices. She is definitely an asset in Thailand for the Affordable ...
This was an excellent trip! We are so impressed with the quality of this tour. The accommodations were superior - something I did not expect for the price. The tour guides were exceptional - a giant thank you to both Panada and Leo! The tours were fantastic - great choices. We loved everything about this trip, and have told all of our friends that they MUST travel to Thailand, and the MUST book with Affordable ...
Our tour guide in Thailand (Audi) was amazing!!!! I wish he could have traveled to Beijing with us! Would go on another tour with him for sure! Overall, the trip was great. I think Ayuthaya could have been left off with an extra day in Pattaya so as to avoid traveling on the bus everyday. We enjoyed the trip and would travel with Affordable World again.
Patty & Tin in Thailand were so awesome - lots of fun! Gary, Beijing tour guide, did a good job... Very informative about the region.
We, a party of 6 people had a wonderful time in Thailand and China. We enjoyed most in Thailand. Our tour guide in Thailand, Patti was awesome. Accommodation throughout the tour was great. Definitely recommend Affordable World to our friends.
I loved the tour guide Patti (Thailand) and Nenry(Beijing).
Our guides, Audi and Leo were excellent
Had a wonderful time, met great people and really enjoyed my trip. Affordable World staff made it very easy for me Thank you for all of your help. Just one glitch--the airline seats assigned to me before I left were reassigned and not so great.
The tour guide in Thailand (Audi) was excellent ready to please everyone very positve and me feel secure with him I can see he would look for everyone. He deserves to be a role model. Did not demand daily tip he did not even ask for it. Some of us that have travel before ask him about it he said any amount is welcome if you can and want to give. When we were giving him the ...
Our tour guide Audi (nickname) in Thailand was EXCELLENT. A+++++++
We found both our guides excellent. They took very good care of the group and went out of their way to make sure everything went well. The classical dance show was of interest but the dinner was not very good. Overall it was a very enjoyable and packed excursion. We always felt safe and were kept fully informed of by our guides. The transportation was comfortable and always on time. I would definitely use Affordable World again ...
The trip guides and accommodations exceeded my expectations. Our guides did a great job. Thailand guides were awesome. China guide was good, but not equal to our Thai guides. The accommodations were great. All guides were very knowledgable and helpful. The only problem we encountered was our transfer to China was on a 1:00am flight meaning we arrived in Beijing after traveling and being awake all night, on top of which our flight was delayed ...
I enjoyed my early September trip to Thailand and Beijing. Thailand is so interesting. There's so much to see and do. I loved going to Coral Island near Pattaya to swim. I thought the breakfasts in the hotels were really good. I would have preferred to be in the bus rather than a van as I had wanted to get to know others on the trip.
The tour was really great and the hotels were nice. Best hotels were in Bangkok and Beijing. The country sides in Thailand only had decent style hotels. The tour guides in Thailand were amazing (Patty and Audi). China tour guide was not as great but decent. The food was not great, but overall the trip is worth the money you spend with many meals included. The cost for the flight alone makes the trip well worth it and they ...
We took our trip in mid April. Even in the heat and humidity of Thailand - we never noticed that. We were so busy seeing the beautiful sights and meeting such beautiful people. We so much enjoyed our tour and we were disappointed when it was time to head to Beijing. There were so many activities that covered interests for everyone. We were not unhappy with any of the extras and did them all. The ...
I went on this trip in February so weather in Thailand was perfect, but cold for Beijing. The Thailand portion of the trip was amazing! 5-star hotels, buffet meals, and our tour guide Patty will be your best friend. We got the full experience of Thailand's history, culture, and nightlife. Pattaya is definitely the best part of Thailand. I felt really spoiled from Thailand, because going to Beijing was just a mild exploration of it's major tour sites. All in ...
